Sulaiman T. Bah is the Community Engagement and Outreach Coordinator for the Minaretein Center (Education City Mosque) at Qatar Foundation. He completed his Master of Arts degree in Public Policy in Islam in 2019 from the College of Islamic Studies at Hamad Bin Khalifa University. In 2008, he received his Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in International Relations and Middle Eastern Studies from the College of William & Mary in Virginia, USA. From 2007 to 2008, Sulaiman completed an Advanced Arabic Studies Certificate while studying abroad at the University of Aleppo in Syria.
Before moving to Qatar, Sulaiman directed and taught English language programs for the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) in Saudi Arabia from 2011-2015. From 2008 to 2011, he worked on civil society development programs covering the MENA region and Sub-Saharan Africa at IREX, an international nonprofit development organization, based in Washington, DC.
Over the past decade, Sulaiman’s career as a young professional has spanned different fields from international development to international education; and from cross-cultural communication to youth leadership and faith-based community transformation. Sulaiman has strong geopolitical and cultural experience working and living in the Middle East and Africa. As someone who believes in lifelong learning, he is fluent in five languages. Sulaiman’s core skill areas are working on community and youth development programming, ethical leadership and environmental stewardship. He has also participated in numerous volunteer overseas programs and delivered workshops in Bosnia, Iraq, Nepal, Cambodia and Bangladesh.
Born and raised in Saudi Arabia, Sulaiman is a Muslim American with strong family roots in West Africa.
