Dr. Ehsan Pourkarimi Daryakenari
Assistant Professor of Genomics and Precision Medicine at the College of Health and Life Sciences (CHLS) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU)
Dr. Ehsan Pourkarimi is an assistant professor at the College of Health and Life Sciences (CHLS) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU). His research focuses on the transgenerational inheritance of epigenetic information, establishing an all-in-one toolkit for epigenome editing, and understanding the role of histone modification in DNA damage-induced apoptosis.
During his post-doctoral work, Dr. Pourkarimi focused his research on understanding the effect of chromatin modifiers in cellular response during acute stress conditions. He then moved to New York City and worked as a research associate at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center where he studied DNA replication.
Dr. Pourkarimi holds a PhD in genetics from the University of Dundee in the United Kingdom, and an undergraduate degree from Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) in Budapest, Hungary.
